TPD conducting DUI checkpoint Thursday near FSU

The Tallahassee Police Department and the Leon County Multi-Agency DUI Strike Force (LCSO, FSU PD, FAMU PD, and FHP) will be hosting a safety and sobriety checkpoint in the Tallahassee area Thursday evening.

The checkpoint will take place from 11:30 p.m. until 4 a.m in the 300 block of Stadium Drive.

The checkpoint is used for the purpose of detecting drivers who are too impaired to operate a motor vehicle, vehicles with faulty equipment, and those drivers operating a vehicle without a valid license. This checkpoint will be well marked by signage, marked patrol vehicles and uniformed officers and is designed to have a minimal impact on traffic flow. TPD remains committed, as does the Strike Force, to keeping motorists safe from those drivers who have made the choice to drive impaired. Please plan a safe ride home before you begin drinking, and never ride with someone who is impaired.
