How do I help my
grieving friend?

As caring people, we want to be supportive to those we know who are grieving the death of a loved one. We struggle with the "right words" to comfort. We struggle with an appropriate action that will ease their pain or divert their attention. We struggle with our own pain that has been triggered.

We cannot take the pain away with our words or actions - what we can do is to be with the grieving person in their pain.
