A Rockefeller-style Christmas tree is winging its way to Ireland this festive season, as a new Christmas Village has been announced for the capital.

I BELIEVE will run from Thursday November 26 to Wednesday December 23 at the Custom House Quarter in Dublin.

Organisers say the 28 day event will be Ireland’s first winter food, drink, craft and horticulture festival centred on what will be the country’s most iconic Christmas tree, donated by Coillte to the people of Ireland.

At approximately 50 foot tall, the tree is inspired by the 82-year tradition behind the famous Rockefeller tree in New York - where charity plays a focal part.

Six-year-old Eabha Scully and Kyle Doyle also aged 6 were on hand to launch the event

And the latest addition to the Irish Christmas calendar expects to welcome 10,000 people per day and foresees it adding an estimated €8.4million to the economy.

What's more, if you're on the hunt for Christmas work, I BELIEVE will hire 230 seasonal staff.

I BELIEVE are now calling on businesses across the country with a focus on Christmas foods, crafts, gifting, toys and horticulture to come onboard.
