Linkedin Adds Stats & Demographics to Pulse Posts

Linkedin Adds Stats & Demographics to Pulse Posts

As I knew they would eventually, Linkedin has added value to Pulse by adding viewership stats, demographics and "who's viewed" info to your posts.

This numbers obsessed marketer is thrilled by this!  I am a detail junkie so I am gonna love this.  When I post an article I need to know how it is doing, so I can improve my writing, my content marketing program in general and hopefully generate more leads for my marketing agency.

HERE's what you get now....

First, open one of your LinkedIn posts.  Right next to the gray "edit post" button (under your profile picture and description) to the right is a blue "view stats" button.  Click it and you are able to see the post's analytics

First off you get a  "page views" chart overt time that you can sort by 7 days, 15 or 30 days, and up to 6 months out.  (Note to Linkedin, I have been publishing for over a year here on Pulse.  How about allowing me to see stats for the full life of a post?)

In the first chart, you can also see basics like likes, comments and view counts, but now you can see how many people shared your post, a stat I have been craving transparency from Linkedin for a while.

Below "how your posts are doing" is another great set of stats - demographics of who has read your posts.  This can help you see if your content marketing is reaching the right audience (hopefully your target audience).

Lastly you get to see profiles of who has commented on your post, a great opportunity to reconnect with your connections, or connect with potential clients, vendors, etc.

As someone who is committed to building a great inbound and content marketing program, this really helps.  I hope to see more innovation and even more stats from Linkedin Pulse!
