Why this petition matters

Started by Anita VanderKooi

A cat was discovered badly burned in a cornfield in the town of Crawfordsville, Indiana. The inhumane act was noticed by retired firefighter Steve Wright; he spotted the flames and quickly went to investigate. He initially thought he was dealing with a car fire, but was shocked to discovered the wounded feline.

The animal had been drenched in gasoline; she also had a firecracker placed on top of her, but that did not go off. The cat had been tied up and could barely move. The animal eventually landed in a puddle and that helpled stem the flames.

The cat was rushed to Purdue Animal Hospital for immediate medical attention. The cat is expected to survive, but has a long road to recovery ahead.

Her ears are torn apart, her fur is completely gone down to the skin – the director of the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, Misha Anderson, concluded.

The attacker turned himself in to the police a few days later. 19-year-old Noah Riley stated that he had seen numerous posts on social media about the cat and wanted to make things right, because he was extremely bothered by all the attention the animal received.

He gave no further explanations to the authorities on this matter.

Please support my petition so this twisted man can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Such people do not deserve to be free, they are a threat to society and are likely to strike against if not punished accordingly. We, the undersigned, hereby demand mandatory jail time against Noah Riley and consider it would be a huge mistake if the defendant is not handed out the maximum penalty stipulated by law.
