Privyet! (Hello!)

It's already mid-January, and we are attempting to solidify our calendar for 2015. We would very much like to visit our supporting churches and even individual donors over this year, and so we are asking you to let us know when your mission conferences are taking place. The goal is to look at the potential dates and then put together our itinerary based on YOUR input. We expect to be stateside when Baby Elza has her second open-heart surgery this year...we just don't know when that will be! She is growing well and has even been able to stave off two colds without trips to Johns Hopkins. We praise God for his healing hand on her, his guiding hand on the medical team, and his comforting hand on the family.

We were incredibly blessed to travel to Serbia earlier this month to take part in HCFI's annual Prayer Week. It is always such an encouraging time to gather with health-care providers from across Europe with the intent to pray specifically for how God might use the medical profession to impact his Kingdom this calendar year.

One evening was a time of praise and testimony as several people shared some highlights of 2014. Jim loved answering questions about what God is doing in Ukraine after showing the video from the October medical student conference in Odessa.

Though the internet was a bit unpredictable, we were able to post several blogs during our time there that will help paint the picture of our stay. From initial gatherings that reunited so many friends while joyfully welcoming newcomers to a day of solitude   to hours of prayer and teaching. Our hearts beat in unison as we sought the Face of God.

We personally cannot think of a better way to start each new year.
Our routine is returning to our normal, though we do still have one more local Christmas celebration -- for our fabulous team of Ukrainians working in the hospitals. Between all of our crazy schedules, we have now even missed Orthodox Christmas and the Old New Year!! Oh, well, we will celebrate new beginnings!

Jim is meeting with several groups on a regular basis via skype to mentor health professionals and students in Christian leadership. We are hoping to help organize a leadership conference in the spring.

We ask for your ongoing prayers as we continue to assess our ministry and where best to focus our temporal time for eternal benefits.

By His grace and for His glory,

Jim and Marianna
