Council Vote on Pasadena Archery Range to Occur on Feb 2nd.

Pasadena Roving Archers
Jan 27, 2015
Dear Fans of Archery, Thank you for your continuing support during this long drawn out saga! It looks as if the City of Pasadena will finally vote on the future of the Archery Range on Monday. Where: Council Chamber, Pasadena City Hall, 100 North Garfield Avenue, Room S249 When: Monday February 2nd, 2015 Time: Public meeting starts at 6:30 pm but people need to be in seats much earlier. We really need as many people as possible to attend the meeting - we have to fill chambers and the overflow room to show the strength of support. Encourage friends and neighbors. Once the city publishes the agenda (Thursday evening) we'll send out a further email with more details. If you know you will attend please send us a note at council_rsvp@rovingarchers.com with your name and how many people are coming with you so we can keep track of number of attendees. Please do not assume someone else will go - if you are local we really need you to attend the meeting If you can not attend the meeting please send a letter of support to the council. Even if you have done it before please consider a second letter. If you have time the website http://pasadenaarchery.com/ has a summary of much of the discussion that has taken place surrounding the issues. Please pick one of the issues to address in your letter - I know this takes a little time but we've found that form letters tend to be discounted while personal letters are valued by the council. However if you are short of time a letter expressing support for the continuation of this historic 80 year old NFAA field archery range on which thousands of people are taught the basics of archery each year by an all volunteer organization that also maintains the range and pays the city for the privilege to do so should cover the basics ;) Letters should be submitted by email: To: City_Council@cityofpasadena.net Cc: mjomsky@cityofpasadena.net, city_letters@rovingarchers.com Subject: Lower Arroyo Archery Range In your email ask that your letter be included in the agenda packet for the meeting. By copying city_letters@rovingarchers.com we get a copy for our records so we can keep track of submissions. Finally for those who are local we are holding an informational/planning meeting for supporters tomorrow night: Where: Carnegie Observatories, 813 Santa Barbara St., Pasadena, CA, 91101 When: Wednesday January 28th, 2015 Time: 7:00 PM Many Thanks Gary Spiers President, Pasadena Roving Archers, an all volunteer 501(c)3 public charity Celebrating the art of the bow and arrow in the lower Arroyo since 1935.
