KENYA: Kenyan Artists and Entertainers Collaborating in the Most Unlikely Ways, Check Out This Month's Kem Coop Artists of the Month

Kenya music cooperative is an initiative that supports and empowers talents collectively under a mutual principal of collective bargain, collective purchase and collective sharing. Their heart beat focus is mainly channeled towards the impacting of professional ethics and business attributes as we discover, nurture and promote this fresh and untapped talents from music, theatre, dancing, photography, videography, graphic designers, image consultants, cloth designers, producers, promoters, sponsors and many more related to the field.

Kenya music cooperative is not only limited to the national connections, they are also collaborating with international talents and they do some related initiatives collectively with a common purpose of empowering talents collectively.

Now after the successful ‘Unity in Diversity’ concert held at the Sarakasi Dome on 29th may 2016 the organization is now switching to promoting their artists of the month.

For the month of May they have featured multi-talented rapper-producer-label owner  Gkv Kenya  (Migori-Nairobi ) fast rising dance hall singer Mwas the Keed  and multi-talented  rapper-writer-artist manager Don Gas fyatu

Don gas Fyatu is a writer and an afro -hip hop artist, a pioneer sheng writer published by kwani Trust in several editions, his literature is inspired by people and it revolves around love and hate, conformity and rebellion, innocence and experience. He is the coordinating ‘Trustee East Africa rise Up Project’; a music and development movement project running CO-OP projects in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, and Malawi. When not writing, he is recording music, coordinating music events and managing artists. He writes to discover and to tell stories, since he believes artist and writers are mirror of society. Mwas is a part of Jalada Africa collective

Don Gas fyatu  is also a former Ukoo Flani Mau Mau member, a writer, Philanthropist  and an Afro -hip hop artist who when not singing, writes, coordinates music events and manages artists. He a signed artist at Sub Sahara entertainment working on a debut album

As for GKV, his passionate obsession with music culminated into his first studio single “Chunga Life” in 2005, which was an HIV and AIDS awareness song that became an instant hit in Nyanza and its environs.

A few hit singles later with “Game Shot” in 2006 and “Jeshi La Uongo” with Gusto, in 2007 Gkv concentrated mostly on learning his trade as a producer and sound engineer working with wnd under the tutelage of producers such as Musyoka, R Kay, and Chizzen Brain amongst others.

He later established his own Record Label (Chuo Records) and a Visuals Production Company (Telefinity Media Filmz).

Gkv released his second studio album “Urban Cocktail Volume 2” on 10th April 2015, which is enjoying massive sales and receiving great reviews. He is currently riding high with his latest hit single #Zimeshika.
