Relief will finally come to Outlander fans in less than two months.

Starz has announced the second season of the drama — based on Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling book series — will return April 9. The action in the series from Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) will move to France, where Claire Randall Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) will attempt to infiltrate the French aristocracy in an effort to stop the Battle of Culloden.

For a preview of what’s to come, EW and PEOPLE have obtained the above exclusive trailer, which shows the “burden” of Claire’s time travel and the promise she makes to Jamie that they’ll always stay together — despite the fact that Frank (Tobias Menzies) is waiting for her in another century. And there’s a baby on the way!

The drama will feature two major additions this season — the role of Brianna, the daughter of Jamie and Clare. She will be played by newcomer Sophie Skelton. Richard Rankin will play the adult version of Roger Wakefield, the adopted son of Reverend Wakefield.

Outlander will premiere on April 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Starz.
