RING Needs Garden Sitters!
What is a garden sitter you ask? It's a very important way for members to volunteer, but doesn't require particular skills, and you get a lot of enjoyment. Parks Dept. requires us to be open 20 hours a week. We won't leave the gates open without someone inside, hence the need for garden sitters. Sitters open the garden to the public, ensure no damage comes to the plants, hand out RING brochures to those who might want to join, and close up. While in the garden you can enjoy a book, a meal, meet with friends, or even do some gardening, if you've been trained to do it.
- Alison has offered to volunteer Wednesdays from 6:30pm to dusk.
- Kevin and Sandra have offered to cover Saturdays 10 - noon. They will be doing pond maintenance, and if you have an interest in learning that, please consider joining them.
Please let us know if you plan to garden sit on a regular basis so we could put you in touch with others who are interested in the same time. Feel encouraged to come in whenever you want and open up for how ever long you want. It's all good!
