In this webinar, we will explore the World Biotech Tour (WBT) project and the requirements science centers must meet to submit their location as a 2016 tour stop.
The WBT is a multi-year initiative that will bring biotechnology to life through science festivals and related activities. The program, supported by ASTC and the Biogen Foundation, will run from 2015-2017, culminating in presentations at the Science Centre World Summit in Tokyo in 2017. The WBT will increase the impact and visibility of biotechnology among youth and the general public at 12 science centers and museums worldwide through hands-on learning and explorations in societal impacts.
Viewing the webinar is required to be considered for the 2016 cohort. If you cannot attend the live webinar contact Carlin Hsueh, CHsueh@astc.org, for a link to the archived video.
What is the significance of the WBT?
The WBT will raise awareness about the future of biotechnology and engage the general public - most importantly, students - by discussing, investigating and exploring relevant topics. The WBT will build a global network of educated individuals and inspire the next generation of scientists. To learn more, visit www.WorldBiotechTour.org.
