The Heartland Conference announced Wednesday afternoon the results of the 2015-16 Men's & Women's Basketball Preseason Polls in voting among coaches and sports information directors.

UTPB Women's Basketball was selected to finish in the top half of the league in 5th place with 104 points. The Falcons advanced to the Heartland Conference Championship game last season and finished the season 16-12 with a 9-9 conference record. UTPB returns one player from last year's team, sophomore TeAnna Edman-Rowe, and welcomes 17 new players to this year's squad.

The Falcon men were selected 6th out of 11 teams in preseason voting with 138 points. UTPB went 17-12 in 2014-15, going 12-8 in league play to advance to the Heartland Conference Championships. The Falcons bring back three players from last season's team and add 14 new players for 2015-16.
