Elizabeth Cole — A Heartless Design

Dawn Halliday — The Sweetest Revenge

But as Isabelle surrenders to her reawakening feelings for the wicked earl, she faces an impossible choice…

Vicki Hopkins — Dark Persuasion
A cruel accident left Charlotte Gray blind at the age of eight. Suzanna Medeiros —Loving the Marquess
To save her family, the desperate Louisa Evans must turn to the head of the family that ruined hers. The Marquess of Overlea marries her for reasons of his own. After the wedding, he reveals he inherited the same illness that killed his father. To save the marquisate, he intends to have another man father his heir. But his plan becomes complicated by an almost desperate need to claim Louisa for himself.

Kate Pearce —Educating Elizabeth
When Miss Elizabeth Waterstone encounters the enigmatic Duke of Diable Delamere, she is determined to exploit his rakish expertise. The duke agrees to teach her everything she needs to know, but soon finds himself needing more than her innocent skills in his bed. Together, they must work together to save the Prince Regent, even as they fall into a dangerous love.

Sandra Schwab —Bewitched
After a magical mishap, Miss Amelia Bourne is stripped of her powers and sent to London in order to be introduced into polite society—and to handsome, rakish Sebastian “Fox” Stapleton. But she and Fox are now pawns in a mysterious, deadly game. Will Amelia be strong enough to battle the evil that lurks in the dark, and will she be able to claim her heart's true desire?

Megan Bryce sits in front of a computer all day making up stories for a living. Which means she is not nearly as interesting (as well as tall, svelte, and/or dressed) as her characters. She gets bored quickly and just can't be bothered with anyone in her head who doesn't make her laugh--which translates into fun books, outrageous situations, and witty characters.

She writes both contemporary and historical romance, and you can visit her website at www.meganbryce.com

I loved this collection of books! Probably one of my favorites I have read this year. My favorite book in the collection was "Dark Persuasion" by Vicki Hopkins. In this book, Charlotte has been blind since an accident when she was eight, she met two mean boys in the woods and one of them pushed her off a limb and she became blind. She is pretty courageous for a blind young lady and she ends up being introduced to society. She meets two brothers, Patrick and Rupert, but she doesn't know that they are the reason for her blindness. Patrick starts to fall in love with her, but Rupert is only out to seduce her. Which brother will she choose? Will she ever "see" through Rupert's scheme and will she find out that Patrick was responsible for her accident? This story was very good!
Madelynne Ellis' book was hot enough to melt your Kindle, as was Dawn Halliday's!

An eclectic mix of stories that has something for everyone. There are plenty of very spicy and scandalous tales to heat up your winter nights. I was so pleased and enjoyed each author's offering. I've never read any of these authors before and thought this was a great collection. This is worth checking out for fans of erotic romance.

One of the best collections of HR novels I've come across yet. A great read for anyone who's looking for something that's really well put together. They authors as well as their stories were perfectly chosen and compliment each other very well. These 8 stories will have you engrossed for hours unable to put it down.

To Wed a Widow

Lady Howard has been married and has lost 5 husbands. But unlike most 'black widow' stories, she's just really unlucky. This time she's decided to go about it a little differently. She wants to be pregnant before she marries, just to guarantee that she'll have a child. Then at a party she meets George Sinclair, who has recently been called back from India by his brother the Earl. The Earl has had 4 daughters and refuses to bed his wife again due to how ill she was after giving birth to their 4th child. Therefore, even though its important that George carries on the line, he's still not supposed to marry the widow because she's not respectable. But George throws all that over for love.

I thought this was a great story and I really enjoyed the thriller aspect of the novel, but wish it had been worked out more. I really enjoyed the 2 story lines, but I wish there had been more of the Earl and his wife, as that was where the angst in the story really was. I almost wish that that area of the novel had been a separate novel.

A Heartless Design

Cordelia is determined not to marry. Strikingly beautiful and much smarter than the people she meets regularly, she hides her intelligence and brilliance in engineering, but when Sebastien is called in by the crown to search for documents which have gone missing from her home she has no choice but to trust him. Once she's let him in she can't seem to (or want to) get rid of him, but being with him could be the end of her secret career.

I absolutely love Cordelia- strong, smart, big heart. She's exactly the type of character I love reading about. Coupled with great engaging writing and a good story line, there was only one issue: I wish it had been longer... it was so exciting!

Three Times the Scandal

Fortuna, when faced with marriage to a man she doesn't love or respect, chooses to flee with Giles who practices free love. What follows is one of the steamiest Historical Erotica novels I've come across. Menage-a-trios, FMMM.... nothing's off limits. But unlike a lot of erotic novels, the sex scenes aren't what's holding the story together. Rather, there's actually an amazing plot. Great characters, with a depth I hadn't expected. Ellis Creates a story that's so modern, but thoroughly in it's time as well. Though not for the faint hearted, I absolutely loved it.

The Sweetest Revenge

The Earl of Leothaid took Isabelle's innocence as a young lady and years later, after having to have lived a life away from the wold she meets other women who have been wronged by him and plot their revenge. They keep him hostage until he realizes what he's done, but nothing is as it seems.

I've read this novel before. As I was reading the story line kept coming back to me. It's a solid read with good characters and an interesting plot. It's also, the only HR novel I've read of it's kind. There's a lot of revenge stories but nothing like this. Fun, interesting and misleading at parts.

Dark Persuasion

Two boys are playing in the woods when they see a girl coming towards them. Before Patrick knows it he's pushed her off the tree which has left her blind. Years later, war weary he's still haunted by what he's done and determined to make it right. But when he falls in love with her everything changes. He'll need to win her from his rake brother, get her to marry him and all whilst hiding what he did.

This novel is a really twisted version of Douglas Sirk's Magnificent Obsession. There were sections that left me shocked, others cold and yet others made me smile. There was one big issue for me though: Patrick wasn't catering to her needs. Also Charlotte wasn't being open about her needs. I actually struggled to like her though some of the novel

Loving the Marquess
Louisa Evans is desperate to help her siblings. After their drunk father left them with nothing and they're on the verge of being evicted from the cottage they're in she's desperate with almost any option. Even if it means marrying the nephew of the man that ruined them. But nothing is easy as Overlea cooks up a plan to get her pregnant- with his best friend!

I'd read this one before as well. I really like Louisa and Overlea separately, but together it sometimes seems like something's off. I did really like the mystery aspect that evolved throughout the novel.

Educating Elizabeth

Elizabeth Waterstone, through shocking circumstances, is given to the Duke of Diable Delamere in repayment by her step-father. But what starts as a casual education towards Elizabeth's new line of work as a courtesan becomes much more.

It it wasn't for the plot hole and people just withholding information from each other this novel would have been perfect. I really didn't see the second half of the novels coming. I through tit would be another run-of-the-mill mistress novel. The spy aspect of this novel is really what makes it an absolutely brilliant read.

Bewitched

Miss Amelia Bourne has had her magic powers stripped from her and thrust into the season by her uncle. Living with his friends she meets Sebastian Stapleton one evening and realizes she really doesn't like him. But when they're given a love potion they can't seem to keep away from each other.

A delightful read. I love Schwab's novels. They're always so interesting and unique. I especially liked the last few chapters which I found surprising, moving and frustrating all wrapped in one. I actually went back and read the second half of the novel after finishing it.

What a wonderful eclectic steamy anthology of eight full length books by eight different authors – definitely worth the price for nearly 2000 pages of reading enjoyment!

To Wed the Widow by Megan Bryce:
An earl with four daughters needs an heir so calls home his brother home from India to provide an heir and a spare. Brother George’s eye is not caught or held by any of the young debutantes but instead finds Elinor, five times a widow, a woman he cannot forget. Will George do his duty? Will Elinor get what she really wants? Will the heir achieve his goal?

A Heartless Design by Elizabeth Cole:
Cordelia has secrets and doesn’t want them known. Sebastien’s activities as a spy have him looking for something and someone rather dangerous. How the two meet, overlap and become more over time provides a great story of daring with intrigue, foreign travel and a whole lot more!

Three Times the Scandal by Madelynne Ellis:
Talk about HOT! This book made me think that there is nothing new under the sun and what is no doubt considered risqué today was probably just the same long ago. People are people with needs and wants and desires that may not be vanilla…and this story more than proves that this is so! Fortuna learns a LOT and makes herself into a new and very different woman before the story ends.

The Sweetest Revenge by Dawn Halliday:
This was a darker story. Women work together to seek revenge against a man that harmed them and others. Will the revenge be achieved? Will Leo and Isabelle find what they need apart or with one another?

Dark Persuasion by Vicki Hopkins:
Charlotte Gray was blinded in childhood by two boys in a tree. Many years later those same two boys, now men, start courting her. All three have changed. Which of the young men will win her heart? Will she find a true love with either of the men? Can one forgive the person who has changed your life forever?

Loving the Marquess by Suzanna Medeiros:
Genetic illness has Nicholas looking for a way to beget an heir without passing on the disease. Louisa is trying to keep a roof over the head of her siblings and finds herself betrothed. As the story unfolds more and more comes to light and eventually a happily ever after is found for both of them.

Educating Elizabeth by Kate Pearce:
This is another wonderful romance with spies, a woman given as payment for a gambling debt and both good and bad men doing what they do best. There are twists and turns with adventure aplenty in this wonderful telling of the love story of Gervaise and Elizabeth.

Bewitched by Sandra Schwab:
Magic, standing stones, pagan religions, evil, revenge, family and more are part and parcel of Amelia and Sebastian’s story. I have always loved fairy tales and stories with magic and this was a very fun read to conclude the book with.

Lovely Historical Romances

This lovely collection of 8 full length novels includes works written by some very talented authors. I have found some new authors and a few of my favorite ones, as well. It’s well balanced from sweet to sensual historical romances, but all very deliciously well written. All the stories are previously released books with four or 5 star reviews. So if you’ve missed a story or two from some great series, then this is a great collection to reacquaint yourself at an amazing price.

To Wed The Widow by Megan Bryce is the third book in the Reluctant Bride Collection series. I really enjoyed this, oh so sweet, romance which I didn’t mind because I was enamored of the characters, especially George Sinclair’s charming honesty and humor, which made it more delightfully romantic.

A Heartless Design by Elizabeth Cole is the first book in her Secrets of The Zodiac series. Strong and intelligent Cordelia Bering was everything a heroine should be. A bit of intrigue and suspense.

Three Times The Scandal by Madelynne Ellis is the fourth book in the Scandalous Seductions series. Fortuna seeks ruination by rakehell Giles Dovecote to escape marriage to an older man she despises. Sizzling. Erotic. Romance. Enough said. Absolute one of my favorite book in this anthology.

The Sweetest Revenge by Dawn Halliday is a unique plot about three women who have been ruined by the Earl of Leothaid with his rakish behavior, and they take sweet vengeance on him. Though an unconventional historical, I was devouring every bit of this story and couldn’t put it down. I love the writing style. It is also a standalone novel.

Dark Persuasion by Vicki Hopkins is a standalone novel. Complex plot issues and characters, but a nice story of redemption and forgiveness.

Loving The Marques by Suzanna Medeiros is the first book in the Landing A Lord series. I’m not a fan of kept secrets but it seemed to work in this sweet story.

Educating Elizabeth by Kate Pearce is the first book in the Diable Delamere series.
Passionate and suspenseful, delightfully written romance. Kate Pearce did not disappoint.

Bewitched by Sandra Schwab is a standalone novel. Love potion, magical and paranormal aspects.

I was provided a copy by Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I liked these stories some more than others naturally. So much in one book: a widow, a girl given to a Duke, a woman running from an arranged marriage, a spy, a love potion and more. I loved the different ins and outs of these stories and all the characters. I am pretty sure most everyone will find something they will enjoy reading in this set. I recommend.

This is a great book!!! It has several stories by several different authors.. a total of 8 stories that are full length stories!! This is a great deal and not to mention a great way to learn about other authors! The stories are very different too..so that also gives you a chance to see other type of historical stories. Here are the inside titles:
Megan Bryce -- To Wed the Widow: This is a little different book than I normally read. It is a story of a Lady that has been married five times and lost each husband. So it is a little different but I still enjoyed it.
Elizabeth Cole -- A Heartless Design : Cordelia Bering is the heroine is this story and she is living a double life..so she cannot marry as to expose that life. But then she meets Sebastien Thorne..a game changer.
Madelynne Ellis -- Three Times the Scandal: Fortuna Allenthorpe is our heroine in this story. She is running away from a bad engagement. Fortuna leaves with rakehell, Giles Dovecote.
Dawn Halliday -- The Sweetest Revenge: Isabelle Frasier was ruined by Earl of Leothaid years ago and now she and her friends are back to take revenge on the men that have hurt them.
There are four more stories that are great and I hope that you too will enjoy having this book as I do.

These were not the books for me. I dragged through some of them and just could finish the rest. To me they were so predictable and then at the end they wrapped it up in a little package with a bow. All was forgiven all was over come. I like romance novels but these just made me jaded. The writing wasn't bad I guess it was just me.

One of the best parts about anthologies is that there is so many chances to love something, plus you get exposed to different authors. This was absolutely the case for me - found some true new winners I'll be digging through the backlist of. This would make a great gift to anyone doing some traveling who needs stuff they can dip in and out of as they're dashing to make flights.
