MVLP will host a Family Law Pro Se Clinic in Booneville, MS at the Prentiss County Courthouse at 100 N. Main Street. Volunteer attorneys will provide legal advice and documents for a variety of legal matters including Irreconcilable Differences Divorce (No Fault Divorce), Visitation, Guardianship, Conservatorship, Adoption, Child Support Contempt, Child Support Modification, Emancipation, Desertion Divorce, Birth Certificate Correction and Divorce where spouse has been sentenced to the penitentiary. If you are in need of legal assistance in these areas and live in the Prentiss County area, please contact MVLP at 601-960-9577 to register for the event.

“How to Hang Your Shingle and Start Your Own Firm” CLE on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum in Jackson, MS from 8:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Topics to be covered include developing and marketing; best practices for getting paid, malpractice insurance coverage, financial and tax liability information; ethical considerations of solo and small firm practices; integrating pro bono service in the practice; and transitioning
from firms while retaining your clients. The cost is $50 for law students; $75 for attorneys licensed in 2014 or 2015; $100 for MVLP volunteers; and $125 for Non-volunteers.
