Dimapur, July 16 : Community organizations of the Pochury tribe have expressed resentment at government machineries and the police and security forces for “not taking sincere initiative and playing delay tactics.” They have demanded a “fast track action” because the ‘multi independent enquiries’ have failed to serve justice.

The community’s frontals met on July 16 to discuss events associated with the Wuzu firing incident “which have elapsed to one year of no outcome,” a press release from the Pochury leadership stated on Saturday. The Pochury Mothers’ Association, the Pochury GB Union, and the Pochury Hoho appended the statement.

The organizations have placed the following statements before the public (Given verbatim):

* The multi independent enquiries of different agencies like Administration; Police; Magisterial; State Government; Assam rifles and 12 Para Commandos have failed to give the true and justice report for further necessary action as demanded by the public. Therefore, we strongly appeal for a fast track action in favor of the victimised family.

* The members also lamented and said that if the Assam rifles & Para commandos did not touch and carry the slain NSCN (K) cadre bodies at the first place, the incident would not had been happened and could be avoided. Therefore, the cause of incident was cent percent responsible held by Assam Rifles and 12 Para Commandos as per the eye witness and spot verification reports.

* Remembering the Wuzu firing incident to bring justice at the earliest, the Pochury Hoho with the other apex bodies of Pochury area also contemplated on the extension of the Disturbed Area Act in Nagaland as unfortunate an uncalled for, while the whole Nagas are pushing towards the political solution and peace. As such, the people of Pochury urge the Government of India to withdraw the AFSPA and DAA from Nagaland in order to bring and live in peace as deserved by the Nagas.
