Help Fund Menri Monastery Calf Barn
Help the Menri Monastery dairy farm grow, as its community grows.
A little background here...
My name is Sara Warner-Phillips. I was greeted on my first day at Menri Monastery's dairy farm by an adorable calf born just minutes before we arrived. That wee animal was one of 15 new calves added to the dairy, when I was visiting in the spring of 2015. 
Menri Monastery was established in a small valley in northern India. 
Bon Tibetan refugees have found a home there, growing from a small group of monks to over 500 people today. (Bon is the indigenous tradition of Tibet.)The farm, with its dairy herd, provides milk for the community of Bon Tibetan refugees. Over 350 children depend upon the monks and nuns for a home, food and education. 
The Bon Children's Welfare Center continues to grow, and the need for good nutritious milk never ends.
Construction of a barn for new calves, storage for grain and living quarters for the farmer has begun. We have raised $10,000, which is incredible! Now we need to finish strong and raise $10,000 more to complete the building before the rainy season sets in. Without shelter from the monsoon rains, the calves can suffer from hoof rot and disease. The new dairy barn will provide that protection from the summer heat and the monsoon rains.

The money you give will enable the completion of a multi-use building with storage for grain, pens for the calves and living quarters on the second foor.

Children carry milk twice a day from the farm to the monastery.
