West Central Mass Transit provides safe affordable transportation services to the six county area including Morgan, Scott, Brown, Pike, Cass and Schuyler utilizing state and federal grants administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Federal Title IIIB Older Americans Grant, Area Agency on Aging for Lincoln Land and West Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging, with generous donations from many local civic organizations.  Access to state and federal grants keep the ride cost low.  The inability to access grant funds owed to the West Central Mass Transit District has forced them to temporarily suspend transportation services until such time as the state allows access to those grant funds totaling $696,620.00. Thousands of people in this 6 county region have now had their lives put on hold. Many people (handicap and otherwise) utilize this service to go to and from their jobs, doctors appointments, shopping, dialysis appointments and chemo treatments....among other things.  The future is in question without this service and needs to be reinstated immediately.
