Netflix has cast two Baudelaire children for A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Supergirl actress Malina Weissman will play Violet and newcomer Louis Hynes will play Klaus in the streaming company’s series adapting the gothic children’s novels by Daniel Handler, EW has confirmed.

Neil Patrick Harris is in talks to play the villainous Count Olaf in the story of three orphans — Violet, Klaus, and yet-to-be-cast Sunny — trying to uncover the secret behind their parents’ deaths. Handler (who writes under the pen name Lemony Snicket) and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) are executive-producing the series.

Weissman is known for playing the younger version of Melissa Benoist’s lead character on Supergirl and will also be seen in Sonnenfeld’s upcoming film Nine Lives.

The Unfortunate Events books were previously adapted into a 2004 movie starring Emily Browning, Liam Aiken, and Jim Carrey.
