It all started with a trip to the Grove City Farmers Market (one of the best around !)
We picked the perfect zucchini…
And took it to Pap Pap’s house the next day! I thought I grabbed everything I needed to make it easy. But I forgot my shredder! Now Gram’s used her fancy attachment to her mixer, I am not that cool. So the hunt was on there had to be a regular shredder in that house somewhere…….then I saw it a box with pics of vegetables all covered in dust. Eureka! A shredder!
It was still in the original box never opened, it was perfect and worked so well!
So I originally intended on whipping up some zucchini bread real quick so Gramps could have a loaf, he loves my zucchini bread. Next thing I know the peas where taking over! All I had to do was talk them through it all.
The were learning to bake zucchini bread in Grams kitchen and Pyper couldn’t be any more happy. She cooked with Gram every chance she got in this kitchen and even after 5 years remembers every time.
Today was special and even though Phoebe was 1 when she passed away, this gave her a little bit of Gram that she never had the opportunity to share with her.
I careful showed her how to peel a vegetable and then shred it, it took barely any instruction Py’s dream is to be a baker so she just dove into this.
Then showed Phoebe how to crush the pecans, she did so well!
It took a while longer than usual but they were so proud (-:
The pecans were crushed a little faster than the shredding of the zucchini (-:
Finally they were able to add the other ingredients.
Flour flour flour!
Cinnamon and my cousins Denise’s home-made vanilla extract
Hey how about some bananas ??? YES! time to smash !
Keep smashing there sis….
Add it to the mix….
And let Pyper mix it all
While Phoebe sprayed the loaf pans (-: maybe a little too much LOL those loaves were never gonna stick!
Yeah…a little too much maybe….
Done and read to put in the pans while one patiently waits
Almost ready to bake!
It got pretty messy ! they were happy to clean themselves up but you won’t see pictures of them cleaning the kitchen!
One hour in here….
45 minutes for the mini loaf!
We served it warm, it’s the only way! Now getting a good picture is never easy….take one…(phoebe!!)
Take two….uh good enough (-: Hope you loved the bread Gramps because the girls loved making it for you!
Here is the recipe only we added three smashed bananas and a cup of chopped pecans (-:
Happy baking!!
