Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of January 12 – January 18.
Esvan Middleton
Men’s Basketball
Concordia’s Esvan Middleton has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Middleton, a senior center from Culver City, Calif., was a force down low for the Cavs with a total of 33 rebounds in two wins while playing on the road. Middleton scored 10 points and secured 20 rebounds, his second 20-plus rebound total of the season, in a 75-66 win over Northwest.
Middleton is No. 3 in the NAIA DII with 10.6 rebounds per game and ranked No. 27 with 2.0 steals per game.

Robert Watson
Men’s Indoor Field
Concordia’s Robert Watson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Watson, a sophomore from Portsmouth, Ohio, hit the NAIA 'B' standard with a 49-10 (15.19m) mark in the shot put which ranks No. 9 in the NAIA. He finished as the best non NCAA DI or unattached/pro athlete in the field at the University of Washington and moves into the No. 9 spot in CU school history in the event.

Hans Roelle
Men’s Indoor Track
Eastern Oregon’s Hans Roelle has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Roelle, a senior from Anchorage, Ala., was competing against the US 3,000 meter steeplechase record holder Evan Jager and a 1,500 meter bronze medalist Matt Centrowitzin the World Championships, in the event.
Roelle, the defending 1K national champion, ran a time of 2:26.81, to hit the automatic qualifying mark.

Sadee Jones
Women’s Basketball
The Evergreen State College’s Sadee Jones has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Jones, a senior forward from Belfair, Wash., recorded her eighth and ninth double-doubles of the season, leading the Geoducks to a pair of home victories.
Jones scored 13 points with 10 rebounds against Concordia and followed that up with a 24 point, 10 rebound performance against Warner Pacific.

Harley McBride
Women’s Indoor Field
Eastern Oregon’s Harley McBride has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
McBride, a sophomore from Burbank, Wash., entered at 1.59 meters (5-2 ½) and cleared 1.69 meters (5-6 ½) to hit the NAIA "A" standard to qualify for Nationals.
McBride finished fourth in the high jump, finishing behind two NCAA D1 Athletes and a professional jumper.

Mikel Elliott
Women’s Indoor Track
Concordia’s Mikel Elliott has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the week.
Elliott, a senior from Randle, Wash., Earned the NAIA 'A' standard in the 3,000 last weekend with a time of 10 minutes, 12.78 seconds to enter the NAIA performance list at No. 5 in the country.
Honorable mention: Nichole DeGrange, COI
