Throughout September, writers of all ages and varieties will commit to putting their heads down and their pens to paper to raise money for the Sydney Story Factory.
BENJAMIN LAW has accepted the Pen to Paper Challenge. He promises to write Series 2 of SBS’s “The Family Law” in record time. Support Ben here.
This might mean keeping a creative journal for a month, writing Chapter 10 of your long-neglected novel, six new poems, a short story, 1,000 words on that tricky article, or something entirely different – what matters is that you challenge yourself to just sit down and WRITE.
Then you create a fundraising page, ask friends and family to sponsor you, and the proceeds go to help us run more free creative writing workshops for marginalised kids. It’s like the City to Surf, for those who’d rather write than run.
As an extra incentive – our top fundraiser will WIN naming rights for a character in crime writer Michael Robotham’s next novel. Michael can’t promise whether they’ll be hero, villain, or victim, but they will be immortalised in print in at least a dozen languages.
