"The owner of Drewski’s Food Truck is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot and killed his dog and business mascot during a burglary of his home Saturday night.
When he returned home from working an event, Andrew Blaskovich said, he found his home ransacked and Rex, his 2 1/2-year-old blue Great Dane, dead with a .40-caliber gunshot wound to his chest. He said it appeared the dog was shot in the living room but managed to make it to his favorite spot at the foot of Blaskovich’s bed, where he died."

Many of us consider our beloved pets members of our family, we often care for and love them as if they are our own children. These animals are our best friends who unconditionally offer boundless love and support as long as they live. This deep connection rang true for Andrew and his Great Dane, Rex. Unfortunately at this time the law does not protect them accordingly, animal related crimes do not carry the same weight as those committed against humans. With this in mind, as humans who have the abilty and resources to step in to help seek justice for this act - we must.
As previously mentioned, Andrew has released a reward offer of $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest for the burglary of his home and the killing of Rex. This reward fund has been put into place for all of us who would like to donate to help catch the monster that brutally shot this sweet gentle giant.
Pending the arrest of this individual, a petition to urge max penalties for the crimes committed will follow. Should the individual be apprehended without the assistance of a tip, or not found at all the funds raised will be donated by Andrew to The Wildlife Care Assocation and Education Center as well as to Front Street Animal Shelter.
