What about people like me who neither need advice or money. It is actually the other way around.

I felt like a lost #soul at your #Hongkong #rise2016 event last year. Need a good reason to attend this year event. The only good thing was the RISE TRADEMARK BRAND DISPLAY which prompted me to click #selfies and the feel good factor emotionally that it was worth spending airplane fare, accommodation and other cost associated.

WHAT is the Current Meaning of Startups in Business Community?

#Startups is a BUZZ work which I think originated from US and gives a cool factor to #entrepreneurs across the globe according to my limited knowledge of watching facebook, and steve job based movies. I entered the fascinated and innovative field of patents in 2005.

The Indian patent act was just amended and it was an OPPORTUNITY for FIRST MOVER ADVANTAGE in India for a fresh post graduate like ME to earn $$$ MONEY.

However, I didn't come across any #Startup client at the prestigious law firm I worked then. Time was then more BUSINESS oriented then the present day scenario where I hear the following BUZZ sentences

"MY IDEA IS #uber of "X", #FACEBOOK of "Y", #ZOMATO of "Z", "I am a STARTUP",

"I don't have FUNDS",

"I want to file patent in US",

"I need a VC"

SERIES A-Z FUNDING and WHAT NOT: TALKING NUMBERS

"MILLION DOLLAR IDEA".

I always wonder HOW someone else business name (BRAND protected by TRADEMARKS) will help your current idea to BOOM. In fact, new babies (STARTUPS) are infringing upon the intellectual property rights of WELL ESTABLISHED BRANDS. I wonder how many in-house counsels are taking note of this point. Using a ESTABLISHED BRAND NAME gives a good feel to VC that his vested money will reap FRUITS one day. BUT the real story is SOUR as GRAPES.

END OF the DAY it is the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) U create from your BUSINESS will create any sort of value to your business in the long run. YOU have to passionate enough to BELIEVE that YES "I CAN CREATE VALUABLE PATENT".
