PIX11 News viewers were inspired to help the Libertad Urban Farm in the Bronx after a thief stole thousands of dollars worth of tools and produce.

Neil Breslau saw the story air on PIX11 Wednesday evening. He contacted the station with an offer to help the non-profit replace the stolen items.

“It just kind of resonated and I said to my wife I am going to see if I can help,” Beslau said Friday morning.

Tanya Fields is the founder of the farm, “it’s really exciting, it’s flattering, very humbling,” she said of the offer.

On August 3, the farm was broken into twice. Since then, many people have offered to help them recover.

The group set up a fundraising page http://indiegogo.com/projects/rebuild-Libertad-urban-farm
