David R. Montgomery is a MacArthur Fellow and professor of geomorphology at the University of Washington. His latest book, Growing a Revolution: Bringing our Soil Back to Life, digs deeply into environmental issues as they relate to industrial agriculture. He has authored more than 200 scientific papers and 5 popular-science books. More.
 
Brady Walkinshaw – Capnote Speaker Capnote: Brady Piñero Walkinshaw
Raised in rural Washington state, Brady Piñero Walkinshaw, CEO of Grist.org, is the son of an agricultural educator. He brought a dedication for racial justice and sustainable food policy to various roles at the Gates Foundation, then went into politics. As a Washington state legislator, Walkinshaw fought for environmental action, affordable housing, better transit and more. More.
