UF season ticket holders to see cost increase next Fall

Gators fans looking to purchase general season tickets will pay $50 more this year.

Football ticket costs have increased from $330 to $380 for the general public, but student season tickets will remain at $140. The price spike comes as a result of several popular home games in the 2017 season, including against University of Tennessee, Louisiana State University, Texas A&M University and Florida State University, wrote Dan Apple, a UF Athletic Association spokesman, in an email.

“The missed home games from 2016 had no impact on the price change, although now there will be seven home games instead of six,” he said.

Single game ticket prices haven’t been finalized yet, he said.

Students will pay the same amount for season tickets this year after a $35 increase last year, Apple said. Fans purchasing general season tickets will still have to make a mandatory $100 minimum booster donation, which hasn’t changed from previous years.

For the past 15 years, 48-year-old Chris DiMarco, a professional golfer and UF alumnus has been a Bull Gator ticket holder, by contributing more than $15,000 in donations each year.

DiMarco said he plans to purchase tickets again this year despite the ticket price increase, he said.

“Being a Gator fan to me is being the greatest fan in the country,” he said.
