Norwegian Star cruise liner visits Dublin Port

The Norwegian Cruise Line’s Star ship was in Dublin on Sunday as part of one of its European cruises, having left Scotland, and made its way across the Irish Sea overnight, for an early Sunday morning arrival in Dublin Port.

While in Dublin the ship was opened to travel trade representatives and the travel media for a presentation on the developments of the fleet heading into 2017, followed by an extensive ship tour, and lunch aboard at the exclusive Teppanyaki restaurant.

The planned developments include a complete refurb of the entire fleet, which involves stripping the ships right back to their bare bones before a total redesign of the interiors and exteriors.

The tour of the vessel included viewing the 100-seat theatre aboard the Star, as well as the staggering variety of restaurants onboard, which include French, Italian and Japanese dining, with a Teppanyaki station and sushi and sake bars.

Also, present for a discussion on the future of the Norwegian Cruise Line, was senior vice-president Francis Riley and Nick Wilkinson, general manager for Northern Europe and the Middle East.

Ireland was pinpointed as one of the cruise company’s biggest growth markets over the last number of years, and with a now tailor-made website and deals package they expect further sales growth in the coming two years.
