Anna Wintour will make ‘Ocean’s Eight’ cameo

The hottest ticket in New York is Anna Wintour’s Met Gala in May — but perhaps even more exclusive is who’s being cast for cameos in an “Ocean’s Eight” movie version of the gala, including the Vogue editor.

Sources tell us “Ocean’s Eight” — the latest in George Clooney’s film franchise, but with female leads — meticulously re-creates the Met Gala this week for a crucial scene, down to the place cards, VIPs and couture gowns.

Scenes were shot in the Met Museum’s Temple of Dendur with designers Alexander Wang and Zac Posen making appearances along with Vanity Fair’s Derek Blasberg and Vogue contributing editor Lauren Santo Domingo.

We hear Vogue’s Virginia Smith also makes a cameo, but that she shot a scene that takes place at a fashion show.

Wintour will have a role that’s yet to be filmed, sources close to the film said.

Meanwhile, the movie’s Met Gala set was so spot-on, place cards included the names of real attendees — from Jared Leto and Chloë Sevigny to Dakota Johnson, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner — but extras were in their seats instead.

Cartier was also there to dress some VIPs, and extras were “all in runway clothes, like Gucci and Valentino,” a spy said.

A cool backstage area was dubbed “the Ocean’s Club.”

Fresh from her Golden Globes win on Sunday night, Sarah Paulson was back to shooting the film, which also stars Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Dakota Fanning, Helena Bonham Carter and Rihanna — who performed at the real Met Gala in 2015 after she stole the show on the red carpet in her endless yellow Guo Pei gown.

Meantime on Thursday, “The Late Late Show” host James Corden was cast in “Ocean’s Eight.”

Hollywood blog Deadline reported that he’ll play “an insurance investigator who grows suspicious” of the gang of eight ladies who are planning a heist.

The movie also stars Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina.
