SOUTH BEND — Jonathon Geels will discuss the history of Leeper Park’s gardens at "Insights in History," an event at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at The History Museum, 808 W. Washington St.

Admission is $3 or $1 for members.

Geels, a landscape architect with the Troyer Group, will highlight the influences of the City Beautiful movement and historic landscape architecture practices on the open space design locally, regionally and nationally. These elements shaped the way that Leeper Park's designer practiced, and ultimately, impacted the evolution of Leeper Park from its inception through it current condition.

A tour of the Historic Oliver Gardens will be included.

For information or reservations, call The History Museum at 574-235-9664 or visit www.historymuseumSB.org.
