Humans of Olympics: Meet the Brazilian couple working part time at Olympic Park

Excited about collecting exclusive Rio 2016 pins, Caio and Guilherme landed up at a Samsung stall in the high end Barra Shopping mall near the Olympic Park in Barra d Tijuca. Sitting on special motion control chairs with the Samsung VR gear on, the two are experiencing a 4D virtual roller coaster ride which gets too real and scary for anyone who is not prepared for it.

Midway through the ride the roller coaster goes through some particularly fast turns and dips which made these two students, who are working part-time for Coca Cola at the Olympic Park during the summer games, clasp each others’ hands for their life.

Brazil is one of the most tolerant nations towards the LGBT community and it is not uncommon to find two men or women holding on to each other romantically. They came to the mall to collect Olympic pins and went through the entire gamut of Samsung activities twice over to bag about 15 pins each.

Though both are working for Coke, there was slight disappointment when Caio said that he works in the evenings while Guilherme works in the mornings. Both Rio locals, jobs such as these mean extra pocket money for them.
