The Queen's Gambit - Three young Philadelphians encounter disruption and change when their intersecting love lives lead to an unplanned trip into the unknown, causing them to question all that is safe and begin down a path of self-awareness.
To all my friends, family, colleagues and network - it is here!!! Time for me to start planning the development phase of my very first feature film, and I need your help. As many of you know, I've been working on this passion project off and on over the last 15 years.
What started in 2001 as "I have an idea for a story" turned into 80 pages of writing, a writer's block that I couldn't get past, and a hard copy of a script that somehow remained with me through every move (and believe me, there were A LOT of moves). Eventually, as all things that are meant to be will do, this thing re-surfaced about a year and a half ago as something I absolutely had to finish pursuing!
What's happened since then is a complete re-write of the script, an actual title (yay!), as well as the beginnings of a very impressive soundtrack, if I must say so myself:). I've also made a huge step personally and professionally by getting some very useful, constructive feedback from someone in the industry which will help tighten and develop my script even further.
So where do I need to go from here? Well that's where you fine people come in! While I'm reworking some elements of the script, I need to ensure I have a good sense of the budget in order to come up with a business plan. And to do that, I need what's known as a line producer. This is a crucial, crucial first step to taking my film from something I just liked to talk about over the last few years to a tangible product that you will all be able to actually watch by the Summer 2017! Any help that you can provide will be immensely appreciated and I will be eternally grateful to you. Associate producer credits for all:)!
In all seriousness, I truly believe this film could offer a unique viewpoint in life and love, and I aim to be part of a solution to a very serious problem in the film world - a lack of diversity in all senses of the word. With your help, I know I can do it!
