Why this petition matters

Started by Alesia Kennerson

Christian Mumm, a one-year old boy from New Hartford, CT, was born with a rare gene mutation, KCNQ2, that causes him to have many, many seizures every day.  A drug, Potiga, allows Christian to go days without having any seizures.  The manufacturer of the drug, GlaxoSmithKline, has recently decided that they will stop production of the drug because currently only 1500 people use it and it is not worth it to continue production.

Potiga has a profound effect on Christian, and others like him.  By giving him this relief from everyday seizures, he is able to grow and achieve his milestones, and receive the love of his family.  Without the drug, these constant seizures erase the progress that he makes, and leaves him crying and almost certainly in pain.

We are asking that you add your name to the list to request that GlaxoSmithKline reverses it's decision, and to continue production of Potiga as a Compassionate Use.
