SpectraVET Performance of the Week: Shine Di Light
No rider, no problem … at least not for this cow horse mare that loves her job.
Cow horses have proved time and time again that they have a natural talent as well as an innate love for their job: they’ve been known to cut cows without a bridle and even work a flag without tack or rider. But this little mare takes the cake as the best example we’ve ever seen of a horse that knows its job: Shine Di Light, after losing her rider at a Southern California Reined Cow Horse Association show, continued to circle her cow and add in another fence turn, much to the delight of the crowd and announcer.
Shine Di Light’s rider had this to say about her remarkable horse (and their brief parting of company in the show pen.)
Cow horses: they’ve always got your back, but they’re not afraid to show off for themselves either!
