Police are guarding the scene of a fire overnight that occurred at a house in Chermside.
Around 8pm, police were called to a residence on Mermaid Street following reports of a house on fire.
When police arrived, the dwelling was well alight and was extinguished a short time later by emergency services.
The dwelling was unoccupied at the time and no one was injured as a result.
The house suffered extensive damage.
Investigators and specialist police will attend the scene later this morning.
Investigations are continuing.
