Suspicious fire, Mackay

Police are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred in Mackay early this morning.

Around 5.40am this morning police were called to a report of a fire at a farm shed on Hills Road, TeKowai. Police and emergency services attended the address and found two external fuel tanks alight. The fire was extinguished and no buildings were damaged as a result of the fire.

Investigations by police reveal that an office in the farm shed appeared to have been broken into.

Police continue to investigate both the fire and break in and have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the fire to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
