Friends of the Bronx historian mysteriously found dead last week are raising funds to bury him in a historic place.

An online fund-raising campaign aims to raise $15,000 to give Morgan Powell, 40, a grave at the historic Woodlawn Cemetery.

The drive by Friends of Morgan Powell has so far raised nearly $10,000.

The group wrote on their youcaring.com campaign page that their $15,000 goal was the average cost of a wake and burial at Woodlawn.

Powell was found dead in Brooklyn Oct. 9. Details about the cause remained unclear Monday.
