The full Moon next month will herald in the darkest night of the year and the brightest - just MINUTES apart.

The bizarre event will see the phenomena of Supermoon and Blood Moon - which some say is a sign of the end of the world.

The lunar display is due to take place on September 28 when the Moon will be closer to the Earth than usual and will appear brilliant white being at its brightest at about 2am.

However, by 3am the moon will be eclipsed as the Earth will be between it and the Sun.

During this time it will appear copper and become a Blood Moon that some claim is linked to tidal waves, volcano eruptions and earthquakes.

The Moon will be completely visible again by 4.30am.
