It is unacceptable to keep highly mobile, sentient, intelligent dolphins or whales in tanks for ‘entertainment’, and we respectfully ask you to end your association with Sea Life Park and Dolphin Quest on  the islands of Oahu and Hawai'i.

Whales and dolphins are highly intelligent yet in captivity they live impoverished lives doing the same tricks day after day.

Wild capture of dolphins is a brutal experience that has a huge impact on the family group left behind. Death rates of bottlenose dolphins caught for captivity increase by six times during and immediately after capture from the wild.

Dolphins can travel up to 100 miles in a day which they can't do in a small concrete tank. 

We have no right to put these amazing creatures in captivity. Captive whale and dolphin shows are not education, nor do they serve conservation goals; stress and disturbing behavior is common among dolphins displayed in captivity. 

Here in Hawai'i there are many fantastic opportunities to see whales and dolphins in the wild both from land and with a responsible boat operator, and Roberts Hawai'i could expand its relationship with wild dolphin tour companies, particularly to the underserved leeward coast where the community would be enhanced by increased tourism.
