It’s going to be a long summer in Central Ohio! There are 109 days of “cultural summer” in 2015, representing the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, to the Monday of Labor Day weekend. Typically, we have 102 or 103 summer days to enjoy, but this year the calendar works in our favor! Here are some popular Ohio events to get your summer off to a great start!
Asian Festival – Franklin Park, Columbus. May 23-24. This free festival is a cultural celebration of food, exhibits, games, entertainment and more. Explore the marketplace for unique gifts and curiosities, and take in a global experience right here in Columbus!
Ice Cream Festival – Utica. Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26. Old-fashioned family fun includes delicious ice cream, food vendors, arts and crafts, live entertainment, pony rides and contests for the kids. Enjoy the car show, motorcycle show, antique farm machinery and more!
Granville Art Affair & Wine Festival. June 12-13. Polo, anyone? Watch an exciting polo match, enjoy live music, and indulge in samplings of over 50 varieties of wines and beers. Juried art shows features the works of over 80 artists, arrayed in the elegance of the Bryn Du Mansion and the Great Lawn. Great place to take a selfie!
Columbus Arts Festival, Riverfront. June 12-13. This popular Columbus event features talented artists from around the country and the world. Enjoy great food, and six stages of live music and entertainment. Fun and activities for all ages!
Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival, Gahanna. June 19-21. Experience the best blues and jazz in Ohio (or practically anywhere else!) Enjoy over 90 hours of live music, and savor a variety of tempting food including bbq, Cajun, Jamaican and classic favorites. This is a complete shindig with adult beverages, family activities and amusement rides. Come for the music, stay for the weekend!
