Question and Answer Series - Part 1

Before you proceed please read :

In this we aim to post questions asked by Non Muslims during processions like street daw`ah and other instances when the time is short and the answer to be given has to be catchy and striking so as to both answer the question as well as grasp the attention of the non Muslim . We fully acknowledge that many questions , rather all of them have alternate answers which could be very lengthy and sometimes need more than a verse or hadeeth to explain fully. However this is an initiative wherein we will try our best to keep the answers in line with the Qur`an and sunnah `ala fahamis salaf and also keep it short so as to help our brothers on street to be quick in answering. If you have any suggestions or constructive criticms then they are most welcome.  These Questions are mainly picked up from personal experiences in dealing with Non Muslims  and the nature of the questions can be from political to religious and you'll be amazed with the kind of questions some non Muslims ask. it is as if they are well versed with many other topics and thus they wanted more of a fatwa than a challenge. Also,  it is the responsibility of the da`ee to convey the answers or use them to his advantage. we will only give you a chalkline , the rest is upto you .

Q10 ) Why do you have to follow the prohibition of Allah in everything?

Q1) What is the real Motto behind the west interfering in everything related to Muslims, be it their nursery schools or their religious principles?

Ans : " There was no other answer given by his people, except that they said : 'Drive out the family of Loot (pbuh) from your city, Verily these are MEN WHO WANT TO BE CLEAN AND PURE [Qur`an Surah an-Naml verse 56]

And why do they do this , apart from ofcourse wanting the evil to prevail?

Ans : Loot (pbuh) said : "I am indeed, of those who dissapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). " [Qur`an Ash-Shuar verse 169]

i.e the moment you enjoin good or forbid evil, the kuffar and fasiqoon hate it. This is evident from them banning islamic speakers or organization, even christian and jewish organizations which speak against evil

Example, search bbc or any news website with this title : Christian preacher John Craven held 'without food or water'

Reason : he merely asked a homosexual couple to stop their evil act when THEY went and asked (provoked) him about what bible says about this.

Q2)  Does this hadeeth allow unrestricted Lying by Islam?

Umm Kulthūm bint ʽUqbah said: “the Prophet allowed lying in three (situations): during war, in reconciling between people, and the speech of a man to his wife. {In another narration:} the speech of a man to his wife and the speech of a woman to her husband.”

Answer :

Shaykh al-Albānī comments:

“I say, it is not part of the permissible lying that (the man) promises (his wife) something that he does not intend to fulfill for her, or he tells her that he bought such and such thing for her with such and such price – i.e., more than the real (price) – for the purpose of

pleasing her, because that may be revealed to her; then it will be a reason for her to think badly of her husband, and that is part of corruption, not rectification.”

source: silsilat ul-ahādīth us-sahīha ~ the series of authentic narrations ~ hadīth no. 545

So lying that brings reconciliation in the above three cases is what is instructed and also restricted and not vice versa

Q3) Why shouldn't we use logic as a yard stick to weight Islam?

Ans : And know that Allah's Noble Messenger is among you; In most of the affairs, were he to listen to you (your mentality opinions, logic in matters of religion), you would surely fall into hardship” [Hujurat 49:7]

There Are 6+ billion humans on earth. each with their own logic if you say. Listening to everyone's logic will lead to a catastrophe, moreover listening to the logic of a salesman in subjects of petrochemical engineering would be absurd. Likewise Deen al islam is Allah's ordinance , as it mentioned in the Qur`an " it is not befitting for a believing man or women to have an opinion about a matter which allah has set" [Qur`an]

Q4) A man doesn't have a house, doesn't have enough money and has other responsibilities , so how is it that islam permits marrying more than one wives in this condition?

Ans : Islam did not unrestrictedly or unconditionally permit marrying more than one wife. there are rules and regulations , the subject of which is a lengthy discussion however to keep it short :

Shaykh Muhammad ibn hadee al-Madkhali said :

Yes, it is firstly upon him to establish that which is currently obligatory upon him. When Allaah the Glorified and High permitted polygymy He, the Glorified and Exalted, said:

فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلاَّ تَعْدِلُواْ فَوَاحِدَةً

But if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one. (An-Nisa 4:3)

So justice is one thing. However, that which is obligatory in terms of spending is another thing; that which is obligatory upon you in terms of spending upon them (i.e. the first family) is another thing. So if you do not give them their right or you do not have from wealth except that with which to establish their right and you want to marry another wife then we say: their right (i.e. the first family) right now takes precedence. And if Allaah blesses you (with more provisions) then marry; marry another wife. There is nothing at all to prevent you from that.

What is intended by justice between wives is as regards affairs of the Dunyaa which the person is able to divide. As for that which one is not able to divide, then this is the inclination of the heart. This is within the Hand of Allaah the Blessed and High. Allaah makes the hearts incline toward this one and away from that one; or towards that one and away from this one. The Prophet ﷺ used to say:

اللَّهُمَّهَذَاقَسْمِيفِيمَاأَمْلِكُفَلَاتُؤَاخِذْنِيفِيمَالَاأَمْلِكُ

O Allaah, this is my division regarding that which I have control of. So do not punish me for that which I do not have control of.

And this is the inclination of the heart. Na’am, there is no harm (on the person regarding this).

Q 5: Why do you want us to accept Islam?

Ans by a Muslim : Because my lord says : ""And do good (to people) as Allah has done good to you” [Qur`an]

Question 6: Why do you have to glorify Allah regularly?

Answer : Our prophet (s.a.w) and the salaf [explain this in short to the non muslim as pious predecessors or scholars] have said that whoever wants his du`a to be answered at times of difficulty , should frequently invoke Allah at times of ease [Tirmidhi, saheeh and the quotes of salaf are from many books]

Allah also gives an example when he said :

"Had it not been that he (Yunus) was a man who (regularly) glorified Allah, he would have remained inside it's belly (the whale's belly) until the day they are raised again (i.e judgement day) {Qur`an Al saffat (37): 143-144]

Also Allah says : What has happened to you that you do not appreciate the Majesty of Allah,....[Qur`an 71:13-14]

Moreover, glorification of the one who created us and sustains us every milli second is also a way of showing our gratitude even though his majesty is free of it and we are unable to do justice with it

Thanks or gratitude means reciprocating kindness and giving praise to the one who has done good and kind things. The one who is most deserving of thanks and praise from people is Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, because of the great favours and blessings that He has bestowed upon His slaves in both spiritual and worldly terms. Allah has commanded us to give thanks to Him for those blessings, and not to deny them. He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me” [2:152]

Q7: What will happen if i accept islam last moment before i die?

Ans : Allah says :

"What , now! when previously you rebelled and were one of the corrupters? " [Qur`an Yunus (10:91)]

Question 8 : What if i like this decision of mine? i've analysed perfectly with experts and Islam's rulings lack something

Ans : Excellent is that which allah instructs you (with) {Qur`an Surah Nisa 58-59}

The Prophet (s.a.w) said " ....Allah's decisions are the right ones and His conditions are the strong ones (firmer)...

[Ref: Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 3, Book 34, Hadith 377]

Does he who created (everything) not know (what's good and what's bad) the most acquainted the most subtle ? {Qur`an 67:14}

And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.” (AI-Baqarah, 2:216)

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Your love of something might render you blind and deaf.”

[Ref: Sunan Abu Dawud 5130, Da’eef according to jumhoor ,but has a saheeh (reasonable) matan , therefore some have graded it to be hassan on the basis of mutaabi’at wa shawaahid]

Question 9: Why do you have to show or prove such and such religion is wrong or such and such theory is false? Can't you live in peace? just practise your own religion can't you?

Ans : Allah says ".... And shown him the two ways (good and evil)?[Surah al-Balad (90): 7-11]"

as evident , it is natural for one to realize harm so as to understand it's opposite i.e good. it is mandatory for one to be aware of a hole in the road so as to be safe from it. Therefore allah showed us how such and such path is wrong and such and such is the right path. Our prophet (s.a.w) drew three lines to distinguish the right one from the wrong, Then how is then you call to peace while combining falsehood with truth? Why is it that , it's okay to expose a fraud in your locality so as to safeguard the people against him but not expose fraud religious figure heads or beliefs so as to protect the people from a bigger evil?

allah truly says.."....and most of them do not know..."

Q10 ) Why do you have to follow the prohibition of Allah in everything?

Answer :

Qataadah (rahimahullaah) said:

”Indeed, neither did Allaah command His slaves with what He has commanded them due to being in need of them, nor did He prohibit them from what He has prohibited them out of miserliness; rather He commanded them with what is a (source) of righteousness for them and prohibited them from what is a (source) of corruption for them.”
