Explosion, Robina

Police are investigating an incident where a man sustained severe burns to his body at a townhouse at Robina in the early hours of this morning.

Around 5am the man attended the Robina Hospital seeking medical assistance.

Police were later called and attended the man’s Killarney Avenue townhouse where it is believed an explosion had occurred in the garage area of the home.

Police have established a crime scene and are continuing to investigate the incident.

The injured man, believed to be in his 30s, has been transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for specialised treatment to his injuries.
