Production begins next week in Vancouver on Life On The Line, an indie drama about a crew of eccentric linemen who do the dangerous high-wire work of fixing the electrical grid. They struggle to hold on to the women they love, until a massive storm threatens to rip their lives apart. John Travolta, Kate Bosworth and Devon Sawa star in director David Hackl’s film, which was scripted by Primo Brown, Dylan Scott and Peter Horton and is produced by Marro Films and Elite Film Productions. “The last film made in and around the lineman industry was in 1937, Slim the Lineman, and starred Henry Fonda,” said Marro Films CEO Marvin Peart. “It’s an honor and a career highlight to tell this modern-day story about these unsung heroes.” Peart and Phillip Glasser are producing the $10 million-$12 million pic, with Chad Dubea as exec producer. Travolta has Criminal Activities in the can and is shooting In A Valley Of Violence, Bosworth next stars with Annabeth Gish in Somnia, and Sawa next appears in Punk’s Dead and Steel & Stillettos.
