My 400th post. When I consider the mere reality of compiling 400 posts to share with the world, I stand in amazement at where this blog has taken me. 400 posts since 2012. “Ponderings and Inspirations of living a beautiful life”. Yet why acknowledge the 400th post vs any other iconic number in the world of blogging? Why is my 400th post so pivotal? For certain, I have not acknowledged my 100th, 200th or even 300th post. Yet this year has been personally life altering for me and this blog has been a personal source of strength. It has been a year of awakenings, epiphanies and growth on so many levels. The moving force that has run through this blog since its beginning is appreciation. A focus of appreciation on the beautiful things that life has to offer. For the gifts that surround. For the appreciation of the timeless, classic elements of the world which endure to bring appeal. It is and has been a personal desire to remind the world to look closer. Details. Appreciation.
What began as a personal escape into a visual world that I was compelled to compile, compose and push forward into the world-wide-web has gifted me in return. When you share, passionately, the beauty and classic, timeless and enduring elements of life that inspire you, it is inevitable that the focus of appreciation flows not only onto your keyboard or notebook, filled with words embedded in ink, but it is the internal world within you that is impacted. Perfectly stated: “What you focus on expands”. Indeed, focussing on appreciation has expanded my appreciation for life itself. And of my “blog world” of focus? Broad, perhaps. With a love for what I believe to be timeless and classic elements of fashion, visual appreciation of iconic architectural elements and a desire to showcase the vast world of classic elements of interior design, culinary and confectionary appreciation, nature and its gifts, travel and the view from behind the lens and other elements that surround and comprise our lives, the compelling desire to share will endure. Compilations that I hope endure to provide inspiration and further appreciation by those that stumble upon the “Pages” of House Appeal.

With the goal of appreciation, every day, one’s life can daily be transformed. It is a choice. A personal choice. A choice we each can make to gravitate towards a perspective of awareness for the beauty of what surrounds. Simple details and grand details. Looking closer at the world that surrounds with open eyes. A renewed perspective. Looking closer at the details. With appreciation.
