Southern Regional Sailing Team takes second prize
STAFFORD - Congratulations to the sailing team on their second place finish over the weekend.
On Saturday, the team travelled to SUNY Maritime and competed against 12 other schools from New Jersey and New York. They sailed in the snow and freezing rain and captured second for the day.
Swim coach honored
Congratulations Southern Regional Girls Swim Head Coach William Entrikin on being named the 2016-2017 Press of Atlantic City Coach of the Year.
Buddy Club Prom
On Friday, May 19, the 2017 Buddy Club Prom, featuring “A Night at the Boardwalk” will be held in the 9/10 cafeteria located at 600 North Main, St, (Route 9), Manahawkin. The event will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Food, drinks, and desserts will be served and guests are asked to “dress to impress”. This invitation is open to individuals with special needs and their siblings ages 13-21 regardless of residence. A parent/guardian is required to remain on site at this event. Childcare for children (12 and under) will not be provided.

Southern Regional Jazz Festival
The Southern Regional Jazz Festival will be held this Friday, featuring 13 local jazz bands. The event will run from 4-9 p.m. Admission will be $10 for adults and $5 seniors/students. The festival begins with the middle school and elementary school bands followed by high school jazz ensembles.
High School Band Concert
The High School Band concert will be held tonight ( March 23) at 7pm. The concert features the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble playing songs prepared for the Rowan Concert band festival. The admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
Java and Jazz
The annual Java and Jazz Concert will be held on Sunday, April 30th at 3pm in the 11/12 cafeteria. All three of the district jazz bands will perform at this event along with special guests from the University of the Arts, Chris Farr and Matt Gallagher. Tickets Are $10 for adults and $5 for children, which includes coffee, tea, and dessert.
Southern FEA plans Children’s Flea Market
The Southern Regional Future Educators Association will sponsor its first Children’s Flea Market on Saturday, April 29 in the 9/10 gym from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The cost of a 6-foot table is $30.
The flea market is intended for vendors to sell child related items such as used clothing, toys, and books. Other child related vendors will be considered.
Future Educators will also accept donations of child related items to be sold by the organization. Proceeds from sale of tables and donations will benefit the Child Development Learning Lab Playground Fund.

Southern Regional Names the Inductees for the Athletic Hall of Fame
The 28th annual Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held this Saturday from 3-5 p.m. at Calloway’s Restaurant on Route 9 in Staffordville. Tickets for this gala event are $20 per person.
