Into The New York City Sun

I was teaching a workshop in NYC last weekend alongside my good friend, and native New Yorker, James Maher and small group of wonderful participants. The weather was gorgeous, a perfect Fall weekend with a hint of Summer that didn’t want to let go. As street photographers, we embrace every light situation. Shooting into the sun can be tricky, but who doesn’t love a challenge? The tall buildings in NYC really make for interesting lighting situations. From the early morning golden light to the midday sun, it’s all about light and shadows. New York City has, once again, captured my street photographer’s heart.

  1. These are truly gorgeous and the color is awesome! I love NYC and I have to agree with you not converting to black and white, I believe you would lose something in the process…not sure what but I do believe the ambience wouldn’t be the same in black and white!

  2. Great job taking advantage of the great light. The glow is wonderful. Can you share your thoughts behind going with color and not converting to B&W ?
