The Ministry of Tourism has invited National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) to set up 30 stalls of street food to celebrate ‘Bharat Parva’ and also to create a huge culinary platter where people can try out all kinds of dishes from different parts of the country.
This street food-fusion festival is coming to Delhi at the Garden of Five Senses from August 11 to August 15.
It will provide the perfect platform for Delhities to gorge on some of the best street food from India without ever having to leave their city.
This unique food festival will offer a plethora of traditional dishes like Ball Mithai and Jhangora Kheer from Uttrakhand, Ghevar, Daal Bhaati Churma, Payaz Kachori, Mava Kachori from Rajasthan, Kakadabeli, Aloo Bonda, Mava Jalebi, Daal Bafle and Poha from Madhya Pradesh, Litti chokha, Ghughani Kachri, Chandrakala, Longlatta from Bihar, Kebabs from Lucknow and many other dishes.
Talking about the food festival, NASVI National Coordinator Arbind Singh said: “It will be an occasion to re-assert that the grass-roots street food entrepreneurs play a wonderful role in poverty reduction, employment generation and enterprise building, and they make cities charming for all.”
