Getting away with ridiculous billions

“Are you telling me the prime minister doesn’t make his own decisions?

That the ministry, the minister of finance, who is the prime minister – and there are only two to three people in the finance ministry that sign off on shareholder resolutions under law – that none of them… that they just signed without evaluating it?”

Low is on a roll now: “Did the people supposed to be responsible for decision-making (at 1MDB) suddenly decide to absolve all their responsibilities and then create this PR campaign with me as the focus of it?

“No one seems to ask the question who is the ultimate decision-maker on 1MDB? No one asks that. No one ever asks about the shareholder’s role.”

He concludes: “There are so many other people who get away with ridiculous billions and billions and billions worth of projects. But every single time there seems to be a political attack, wow, suddenly Jho is there again.”

Our comment

This is the interview that has really set the cat amongst the pigeons in KL over 1MDB.

Jho Low has set the blame squarely at the door of the Prime Minister and complained how UMNO “spin masters” have attempted to make him the scapegoat for all criticism.

The said UNMO spin masters have predictably reacted with fury, demanding the most thorough examination of Jho Low and his deeds, which of course is the very last thing his BB (Big Boss, the PM) wants to happen in his ‘defence’.

But, it is interesting how Jho Low feels aggrieved, because he feels he is being singled out.  After all, he explains “there are so many other people who get away with ridiculous billions and billions and billions worth of projects”.

Sarawak Report would be most grateful if Jho Low could furnish further information regarding  these ‘others’ so that this most ‘detailed investigation’ could include then as well.  No one should “get away” with robbing the people, which means Jho Low should not feel singled out, as all of the rest of them should be prosecuted as well!
