LINCOLN PARK — In partnership with the Chicago Dept. of Public Health, Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd) will be offering free flu shots in his Lincoln Park office on Thursday.

Scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, the shots will be available inside Waguespack's 32nd Ward office at 2657 N. Clybourn Ave.

Adults and children as young as six-months-old can receive the the seasonal flu vaccine, which is designed to protect against the main flu viruses that research suggests will cause the most illness during the  flu season.

Influenza season can begin as early as October and usually peaks between December and February but can last as late as May, according to the Chicago Dept. of Public Health website.

In addition to the free flu shots, a representative from Get Covered Illinois will be at Waguespack's office to questions about options for health coverage.
