Police are currently coordinating a search for a 30-year-old Innisfail woman at Bartle Frere near Josephine Falls.
The woman attended the popular swimming spot with friends yesterday morning. The alarm was raised at 3pm when the woman failed to return to the vehicle after becoming separated from her friends.
Police, State Emergency Services volunteers’ and the rescue helicopter recommenced the search at first light this morning.
Police are urging anyone that was in the area yesterday and may have seen the woman or the group she was with to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
The woman is described as Caucasian, 175cm tall, with a heavy build and dark brown hair.
