Times are still changing. Public schools in my area are going paperless. Middle School and High School students were given iPads instead of text books. Homework is now done electronically. Sprawling papers and reference books are becoming a thing of the past. (Though poster-board projects continue to overtake the dining room table.)

I like this article's message that it's worth discovering what type of study/homework setup works best for the individual child. My one son does well focusing in solitude, sitting in a straight-back chair at his small-but-sturdy desk. My other son, who's a wiggler, may do better sitting on his exercise ball at a small desk near our kitchen. Both may benefit from a change of scenery when it comes to certain subjects or tasks. Glad I got this advice. Thanks.

Thanks. It's taken me awhile and much trial and error to figure this all out but it works really well for my son.
